Get ready for Wildfire Community Preparedness Day on Saturday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Southside Library, located at 6599 Jaguar Drive in Santa Fe. This free, family-friendly event is all about helping our community get ready for wildfire season and building safer, more resilient neighborhoods.
You’ll learn how to prepare your home for the 2025 fire season, get tips on creating your own emergency “Go Kit,” and explore the science behind wildfire behavior with a hands-on wildfire modeling tool from Simtable. There will also be a special panel with homeowners’ insurance experts sharing helpful information, plus fun activities for kids, a visit from Smokey Bear, and a variety of local vendors offering resources, giveaways, and even a chance to win free tickets to the May 10 Somos Unidos soccer match.
Come out and join us—it’s a great way to stay informed, get prepared, and connect with others in the community.
