ENDWI Sobriety Checkpoints and Saturation Patrols

your-paragraph-text-64

The Santa Fe Police Department will be conducting and participating in DWI Sobriety Checkpoints and Saturation Patrols throughout the City of Santa Fe during November 2025. Officers will be out on the roads to educate drivers about the dangers of driving while intoxicated and to identify and stop impaired drivers, all in an effort to keep Santa Fe’s streets safe.

As the department reminds everyone, “DWI Checkpoints and DWI Saturation Patrols are everywhere.” The goal isn’t just enforcement—it’s prevention. Officers are committed to educating the public and deterring impaired driving because DWI is not a victimless crime. Every year, hundreds of lives could be saved if drivers made the choice not to get behind the wheel while impaired.

These enforcement efforts are supported through the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s Traffic Safety Division, which provides grant funding to local law enforcement agencies. This funding covers overtime for enforcement, as well as training, education, and equipment in high-risk areas across the state. The partnership helps strengthen road safety and reduce impaired driving, making New Mexico’s communities safer for everyone.
