Santa Fe County Public Service Announcement Wins Award

SANTA FE, NM – Santa Fe County congratulates 99.9 FM KSWV Radio and voice actor Luis E. Garcia for being nationally recognized for a Spanish Language COVID-19 Santa Fe County Public Service Announcement (PSA). The PSA was awarded the Best Spanish Voice Over from the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences (SOVAS). The SOVAS annual award ceremony, held virtually this year, is an international celebration of some of the world’s most brilliant voice actors, past recipients include James Earl Jones, Rosario Dawson, and Van Jones.

“This is great news!” County Manager Katherine Miller exclaimed. “We have a long history with KSWV radio and appreciate the role they play in the community. It is important to recognize the accomplishments of local Santa Feans.”

Estevan Gonzales, owner and morning show host said, “I’m thankful for this award because it recognizes not only the talent of our production team, but this prestigious award brings Santa Fe County’s COVID-19 messaging to the national spotlight. We take tremendous pride in the work we deliver to Santa Fe County and we greatly value our partnership in serving the public.”

The winning PSA began running in September of last year and promoted mask wearing. It can be heard on Santa Fe County’s Facebook page.
