The Santa Fe Opera is bringing “Opera’s Greatest Hits” to the Santa Fe Railyard Plaza on Thursday, July 23 at 7 p.m., with the Santa Fe Opera Apprentice Singers performing crowd favorites you’ll recognize from everywhere, including pasta commercials and cartoons. The free concert is part of the Railyard’s summer series, so grab a chair and a friend and settle in for an evening that works whether you’re a lifelong opera fan or still discovering how much you love it. Once the music wraps, the celebration continues at As Above, So Below Distillery, where the “Queen of the Night” cocktail, named for the villainous queen from Mozart’s The Magic Flute, will be waiting. The Apprentice Singers performing come from a program the Dallas Morning News has called part of “America’s premier summer opera festival,” and apprentices don’t just watch from the wings, they take on ensemble and supporting roles throughout the season and sometimes step into leading parts.
